Comdata Introduces Vehicle Location-Based Authorization to Help Combat Fleet Fuel Fraud

Comdata Inc., a FLEETCOR company and world leader in payment innovation solutions, today launched the next generation of Enhanced Authorization Controls, a digital solution that helps prevent fuel fraud in the fleet industry. For decades, Comdata’s Enhanced Authorization Controls have helped limit and prevent both driver and third party fuel fraud losses.

The latest evolution of this system now combines real-time truck location, tank capacity, and tank level data into the fuel card authorization process to help prevent financial losses related to card fraud and driver theft.

“The trucking industry is especially vulnerable to fraud at the pump, costing businesses millions of dollars each year,” said Eric Dowdell, president of North America trucking for Comdata. “Our enhanced authorization system is reliable and trusted, and we look forward to enhancing these capabilities over time to help meet the evolving needs of our customers.”

This Graph Shows How Car Paint Colors Have Gotten More Boring Over the Years

The Drive

According to PPG, who make automotive paint, their annual automotive color survey found that 39 percent of cars worldwide were white in 2018.

In the U.S., over 23 percent of cars last year were white and another 23 percent were black. Purple was the least popular color.

Jane Harrington, PPG’s global manager of automotive OEM coatings, said “While consumers are often choosing conservative colors for automobiles, such as white or black, green has historically been an incredibly popular color choice, particularly in the ‘90s. Beginning in 1999, consumer preferences shifted to more neutral options, shrinking green’s popularity each year."

EV Connect Partner Program to Delivery Best-in-Class EV Charging

leaders BTCPower, EVBox, and EVoCharge are premier partners of the program.

By joining the EV Connect Partner Program, BTCPower, EVBox, and EVoCharge gain access to technical expertise to quickly establish deep, programmatic integration with EV Connect's charging station management platform. The Partner Program will yield bundled, turnkey solutions that hardware partners can leverage to increase sales volumes by taking advantage of additional market reach.

Through the new EV Connect Manufacturer Portal, manufacturers who previously had little insight into chargers deployed in the field can now view their charging stations' performance and health from a central dashboard. In addition to saving costly downtime by enabling early diagnosis and troubleshooting of problems in the field, the Manufacturer Portal also gives unprecedented insights into deployed products by pulling field data back into manufacturers' respective engineering cycles on an ongoing basis. With in-depth technical training on charging stations, hardware partners empower EV Connect's support team to review diagnostics and performance data, triage problems remotely, and ensure optimum station uptime. In all, the EV Connect Partner Program will significantly reduce traditional support and warranty costs while delivering an even better EV driver experience.
