TCA Drivers’ Choice Awards – The Elite Fleets to Honor Top Carrier Workplaces
The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) has announced its driver satisfaction awards program called TCA Drivers’ Choice Awards – The Elite Fleets.
The program will celebrate and recognize the best carrier workplaces in the North American trucking industry based on professional driver feedback and satisfaction.
Produced by TCA and in partnership with University of Denver’s Transportation & Supply Chain Institute, the awards will highlight those carriers who provide exceptional workplace experiences for their company drivers and independent contractors.
2023 Vehicle Recalls Set Near-Record
The U.S. auto industry saw a near-record 382 vehicle recalls affecting more than 33 million vehicles last year.
Last year’s highest number of recalls since the record year 2014 is less a final assembly build issue and more a matter of defective parts from suppliers and new technology that doesn’t have all the bugs worked out.
U.S. automakers General Motors, Ford and Tesla spent $10 billion on warranty claims and recalls last year, $1 billion more than two years ago, according to industry data cited at the conference.

-What do you see as the biggest challenges facing fleet in 2024?
Right now, the biggest challenges I see facing fleet are the challenges of meeting regulations for carbon emissions standards, specifically for CARB. Especially when it appears OEMs have re-examined their commitment to a pure EV solution and are shifting focus more towards Hybrid technology instead of ZEVs.
