What's an automaker to do? If you're Ford, you design cars to do a better job of detecting pedestrians. If you're Waymo (which isn't necessarily an automaker...yet, you design cars that are pedestrian-friendly in other ways, like being softer.
More Power, Better Mileage, More Features – Ford Wants to Expand F-Series’ Lead
If you’re a fan of Ford’s F-150 you’ll quickly spot some changes for 2018, starting with the new “C-Clamp” headlights and updated grille and taillamps.
But that’s just where things start for the upcoming model-year, according to the Detroit automaker. The new F-Series line-up will get a big boost in power on two of its five powertrain options, while increasing fuel economy across the board.

Element Fleet Management introduced Connected Data, a new service offering that delivers information and insights to address key fleet performance challenges. The service integrates vehicle data provided by OnStar for General Motors vehicles with active OnStar accounts, or from an aftermarket device for non-GM vehicles.
Connected Data allows companies to choose the data feeds they need to optimize their fleets, including odometer reporting, vehicle diagnostics and driver behavior data such as speeding and harsh braking, after first obtaining appropriate driver consent.
Ryder Signs Exclusive Deal with L.A. Electric-Truck Maker Chanje
Ryder is moving into the electric-truck business, an early sign that a market for commercial electric vehicles is beginning to take shape.
Miami-based Ryder System Inc. announced a deal Monday with new Los Angeles company Chanje as the electric-truck maker’s exclusive sales and service partner.
Medium-duty trucks are used mainly on delivery routes that run less than 100 miles, meaning they can run a full day using today’s battery technology before needing a recharge.
