Volvo's premium electric brand, Polestar, announced on Wednesday the first direct Tesla Model 3 fighter. The Polestar 2 compact sedan boasts a Tesla-like battery range of 275 miles and starting price of about $43,000.
Silicon Valley's Tesla has stunned automakers with the runaway sales success of its Model S, Model X and Model 3. The latter was by far the best-selling luxury car in the U.S. in 2018 with 139,783 units sold. The Polestar follows Jaguar and Audi in responding to Tesla with Model S competitors.

Once again, the BMW Group is revolutionizing how drivers interact with their vehicles. At Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona from 25 – 28 February 2019, the company will present BMW Natural Interaction. The new system combines the most advanced voice command technology available with expanded gesture control and gaze recognition to enable genuine multimodal operation for the first time. The first BMW Natural Interaction functions will be available in the BMW iNEXT from 2021.
Just like in interpersonal dialogue, BMW Natural Interaction allows the driver to use their voice, gestures and gaze at the same time in various combinations to interact with their vehicle.

Fleet managers have been under constant pressure to find new ways to save money for decades. And let it be said, they’ve found many, from downsizing to outsourcing, from acquiring more fuel-efficient vehicles to, most recently, finding ways to prevent accidents.
Now, another new way has popped up: mobile fleet services that provide vehicle refueling and preventive maintenance. You might think the savings would be based on lower costs for fuel, parts or labor, but for the most part, you’d be wrong.
