Sustainability has become essential to business success, as Motus’s Ken Robinson underscores in his article today. He points out that “Organizations looking to improve their competitive advantages through more efficient use of resources can begin with their fleet vehicles.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
Congratulations to Art Liggio!
Fleet industry safety expert (and icon) Art Liggio has become Chairman of the Board of Driving Dynamics in his retirement, and will remain active in the organization. He has been a friend and a guide for so many of us, and we wish him a great big Congratulations. Driving Dynamics is now in the very capable hands of Tony Vinciguerra as President & CEO and Debbie Balestra as COO (and we congratulate them as well).
Thanks for reading the FMW newsletter today, and be sure to check FleetManagementWeekly.com for daily updates.

February 7, 2022 - Chie Ferrelli loved her Subaru SUV, which she bought in 2020 because it made her feel safe. So when it was time for her husband, Mark, to purchase his own new car last summer, they returned to the Subaru dealer near their home in southeast Massachusetts.
But there was a catch, one that made the couple mad: Mark’s sedan wouldn’t have access to the company’s telematics system and the app that went along with it. No remote engine start; no emergency assistance; no automated messages.
The worst part was that if the Ferrellis lived just a mile away, in Rhode Island, they would have the features.
February 4, 2022 - General Motors is collaborating with an electric truck conversion company to turn commercial trucks, such as shuttles and school buses, into battery electric vehicles.
In the deal with GM, Lightning eMotors will be the first GM Specialty Vehicle Manufacturer to provide fully electric Class 3 through Class 6 commercial vehicles. The GM chassis underpin shuttles, delivery trucks and ambulances, to name a few.
