Whether you buy or lease, understanding how much a car will depreciate is the key to getting the most for your money before you drive off the lot. Smart shoppers know that vehicles with strong residual values help maximize your money at trade-in and tend to have lower monthly lease payments.
With this in mind, the 2019 Edmunds Best Retained Value Awards recognize the brands and models that have the highest projected private-party residual value five years after their launch, expressed as a percentage of their average True Market Value® (TMV®). These awards are part of our ongoing effort to highlight overall vehicle value for shoppers.
Toyota and Lexus rank highest among standard and luxury brands, respectively, for highest projected resale values, and each claim three model-level awards as well.

At this year’s NAFA I&E there are two pre-conference events that focus on skills in high demand in fleet. The first is a fleet Policy Workshop that will walk attendees through the process of creating a robust policy framework that will include a Fleet Management Manual, a Driver Handbook, and Service Level Agreements.
The second pre-conference session is a “Fleet 401” workshop that is geared toward veteran fleet managers who want to take a deep dive in to specific fleet situations and do actual hands-on problem-solving.
A test of Tesla's Autopilot shows that the current methodology of rushing out software patches after a failure is simply not good enough for autonomous vehicles.
Researchers at the Tencent Security Lab managed to get the Tesla Autopilot to veer into oncoming traffic by putting tiny barely perceptible stickers onto the road. These stickers were perceived by the autopilot as lane markings with a high level of confidence resulting in the vehicle swerving into what would have been oncoming traffic.
