Nauto released findings from a study of commercial drivers’ distracted driving behavior and found while nearly all drivers (99 percent) had at least one distracted driving event, behavior improved dramatically when Nauto Prevent In-Cab Alerts were activated within their vehicles.
According to the NHTSA, about nine people die each day as a result of distracted driving and another 1,000 injuries occur per day in accidents that reportedly involve a distracted driver. We believe this is an underestimation - based on our 2018 study, we found that over 70% of collisions involved distracted driving.

Most electric cars need to be plugged in after they’ve traveled 200 to 250 miles, and charging them can take an hour or more.
A round-trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas could take 8 hours driving time, and over 5 hours of charging time.
Charging speeds and plug-in locations make the trip a bit challenging. The U.S. has about 24,000 public charging stations, with an average of fewer than three charging posts. Chargers are often much slower than advertised top speeds and some electric-car drivers have to carry multiple adapters.

The number of U.S. traffic fatalities in 2018 fell 1 percent despite the fact that Americans drove more miles, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a preliminary report released this week.
And while it’s heartening to think that measures to improve safety may be working, the truth is a little harder to swallow — driver and passenger fatalities are down, but traffic deaths among pedestrians and bicyclists are up.

For the first time in five years, overall quality rankings did not rise in J.D. Power’s 2019 U.S. Initial Quality Study.
The study gauges how new vehicles are faring in their first 90 days.
Hyundai Motor Group's luxury Genesis Motors brand achieved the highest ranking in new-car quality among all car brands in the 2019 U.S. Initial Quality Study, while Kia ranked No. 2 and Hyundai was No. 3.
It was the second consecutive year the rankings were topped by three South Korean brands. Their electronics performance was especially strong.
