Hyundai's 2024 Elantra and Tucson have each received TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the organization's top honor.
These vehicles are being recognized for meeting the IIHS' newest and most-stringent crash-worthiness evaluations and for their front-crash prevention systems which are designed to protect pedestrians both during the day and at night.
According to IIHS, "the Elantra and Tucson both come with a standard front crash prevention system that earns each Superior ratings in the daytime pedestrian tests, and an Advanced rating in the nighttime evaluation for Tucson and Superior rating for Elantra."
IoT analyst firm Berg Insight predicts substantial growth in active fleet management systems deployed across commercial vehicle fleets in Australia and New Zealand.
As of Q4 2022, the number of active fleet management systems in the countries stands at approximately 1.4 million units. Berg Insight forecasts this figure to reach over 2.4 million units by 2027—driven by a robust compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.5 percent.
The report underscores the industry’s dynamism and the role of both local and international players in shaping the evolving landscape of fleet management systems across Australia and New Zealand.
The leading provider of mobile connectivity service in the United States, AT&T, has announced it will begin operating some Rivian Commercial Vans and R1 models in its fleet early next year.
This is part of a pilot to analyze how Rivian’s EVs can improve fleet safety, cut costs, and reduce the telecommunication giant’s carbon footprint.
AT&T also announced that it will be the sole provider of internet services to all Rivian vehicles in the U.S. and Canada.
Edmunds experts have compiled a list of the three major industry trends they believe will influence the roads in 2024.
Jessica Caldwell, head of analytics at Edmunds, notes, “While the upcoming year holds the promise of further increased inventory and enticing deals that consumers have eagerly awaited, 2023’s high-interest rates are expected to linger, provoking conflicting market dynamics.”
