Connected Cars Bring Dangerous Distractions
Connected cars were all the rage at the Chicago Auto Show and awards were given to vehicles that offered the "right mix of safety, convenience and infotainment technology."
"The more drivers are involved in nondriving tasks, the more we will see crashes go up," said David Teater, a senior director with the Itasca-based National Safety Council.
Fully Integrated Toll Management Program Launched by Donlen
Donlen has partnered with American Traffic Solutions (ATS) Fleet Services to provide a fully integrated toll management program for their customers.
“We’ve taken toll management to the next level by fully integrating it within FleetWeb,” said Brad Kacsh, Director of Licensing Services. “Toll violations account for more than half of all fleet violations. ARI has acquired Drivefleet, an industry leader in the provision of online driver training products and services.

Nissan and GM Coproduce New 2015 Van
The 2015 Chevrolet City Express — a cargo van built for General Motors Co. in Tennessee by Nissan Motor Co. — is the latest example of global automakers working together.
Based on Nissan’s NV200 cargo van, GM unveiled the City Express at the Chicago Auto Show. The partnership saved GM hundreds of millions of dollars in development costs in designing a van from the ground up. It shows how carmakers are working together, mostly on advanced technology projects but also on vehicles and engines.
