Auction Values – 2011 to 2013
- 2013 auction values finished the year about 1% lower in dollar value and retention that was seen in 2012
- Auction values fell about $740 or 4.4% in Q4 of last year – larger decline than previous quarters in 2013
- Typical to see larger decrease in Q4 due to seasonality factors such as increased off-lease volume in auction lanes
‘Over-Connected and Behind the Wheel’ – Senate Takes on Distracted Driving
Distracted driving takes Center stage in Washington on Thursday when the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, chaired by Sen. John D. Rockefeller (D-WV), hosts a summit on technological solutions to distracted driving -- "Over-Connected and Behind the Wheel."
Reports suggest the Rockefeller, who has focused on the issue for many years, called the summit because of his frustration over lack of progress on the issue, and hopes that the threat alone of intervention by his committee could push the development of solutions to the problem by blocking all non-emergency communication.
