The 2018 competition included an employee engagement survey that had to be completed by at least 50 percent of a company’s workforce as well as an extensive employer survey, detailing benefits and workplace practices. By combining the results from both surveys, judges found Merchants Fleet Management had exceeded the bar of excellence for the 4th year in a row, placing #11 on the list.
California Gov. Jerry Brown accused Donald Trump of hurting American auto manufacturers by advocating for fewer restrictions on mass polluters in the US. "The big driver besides California is China," Brown told the LA Times on Monday. "The big saboteur is Donald Trump. He's trying to subsidize coal and destroy the electric car."
China announced plans in January to halt the production of more than 500 different types of car models for not meeting the government's fuel economy standard. The Trump administration's effort to boost US coal producers and weaken fuel-economy standards will ultimately help countries like China, where businesses are going all-in on electric vehicles and other clean-energy products.

Los Angeles, where drivers spend 102 hours stuck in traffic jams each year, is one of the most polluted cities in the U.S. But within a decade, smog in L.A.–and carbon emissions–will steeply drop. The region is embarking on an ambitious plan to move toward zero-emission transportation.
In 10 years, according to the Zero Emissions 2028 Roadmap, a new plan in development by the City and County of L.A., local utilities, car companies, and several other partners, as many as 45% of private cars and trucks will be electric.
