Consultative services on vehicle transport can help your fleet save time and money, in addition to keeping your drivers productive.
Some of the key factors influencing the resale market in the summer of 2021 include disruption to the supply chain, the chip shortage and inflation. But look for a large supply of used vehicles to enter the market either later this year or sometime next year.
President Joe Biden's administration on Thursday said it would propose reversing the Trump-era loosening of vehicle emissions rules with a new plan to boost efficiency 10% in the 2023 model year and aiming for a corporate fleet average calculation of 52 miles per gallon by 2026. (About 37 mpg on average in real-world mileage.)
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency proposal also calls for a near 5% stringency increase in each model year from 2024 through 2026. But it would not seek to reverse former President Donald Trump's rollbacks in fuel efficiency standards for the 2021 or 2022 model years.
The plan is a big increase from Trump's proposal for a CAFE figure by 2026 of just 43.3 mpg. (CAFE figures are higher than real-world mileage because they include EPA "adjustment factors" like the value of buying and selling emissions credits.) The Biden administration said EPA rules would require higher efficiency by 2026 than former President Barack Obama's administration would have mandated through 2025.

The Nissan Leaf, a stalwart electric vehicle that's been on the market since 2010, just got a major price cut. The base 2022 Leaf S now starts at $27,400, making it the lowest-cost option for those interested in an electron-powered commute.
With an EPA rating of 149 miles, the Leaf S could be appealing to people who don't need to travel all that far in one go. The longer-range Leaf S Plus, which can go 226 miles between charges, also got a price reduction. It now retails for $32,400, down from $38,270.
The Leaf still qualifies for the full $7,500 federal tax credit for new-EV purchases, meaning the effective price of a Leaf S could be just shy of $20,000 for some (before fees and dealer markups). To take full advantage of the refund, though, buyers need to have a tax bill that exceeds $7,500 - so the policy isn't exactly an incentive for the masses.

"All signs were positive...but today is a different story"
The 2021 New York International Auto Show has been canceled as the delta variant of COVID-19 continues to spread throughout the United States. The show was supposed to run from August 20th to August 29th at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City.
The show’s organizers announced the cancellation Wednesday “with great disappointment,” according to a statement, citing the spread of the delta variant and increased safety measures such as the new proof of vaccination requirements announced by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio this week. The decision came suddenly, as just last week organizers revealed a poster for the event titled “The Future is Bright.” This year’s show was supposed to have a special focus on electric vehicles.
