Based on client experience in the real world of fleet, The CEI Group will be reviewing some of the areas where driver risk can go unnoticed, until an accident happens.
By attending, you will learn how to find out if unsafe drivers are hiding in your fleet, and effective ways to improve their behaviors so you can retain a productive employee without increasing your risk.

April 7, 2022 - The Los Angeles City Council this week approved an Electric Vehicle Master Plan aimed at developing an entirely electric fleet of more than 10,000 city-owned vehicles and deploying EV charging infrastructure across the city.
The motion was introduced by Councilmen Mitch O'Farrell and Paul Krekorian, who announced the plan outside City Hall on Wednesday morning, ahead of its passage by a 12-0 vote.
The city's current electric vehicle fleet consists of 124 electric sedans, 46 plug-in electric hybrids and two hybrid electric street sweepers. Four light-duty electric trucks are also expected to arrive in Los Angeles this year. Over the last five years, the city has installed 350 electric vehicle chargers, 140 for the city fleet and 210 for the public and city employees at 19 facilities across the city.
April 9, 2022 - The world is about to pass another important milestone in electric vehicle adoption: 20mn plug-in vehicles on the road globally, come June, according to BNEF estimates. That’s remarkable growth from only 1mn EVs on roads in 2016.
Taking a look at the geographic breakdown of the vehicles underscores how just a few regions are driving most of the adoption. China accounts for 46% of the total sales to date, followed by Europe at 34%. North America is a distant third at 15%, but fresh policy support should get that EV market moving this year and next. All the remaining countries combined account for just 5% of the global EV fleet.
The next few years will bring remarkable progress on EV adoption, but it’s worth keeping in mind just what a huge task it is to convert the world’s vehicle fleet. BNEF estimates that there are 1.2bn light-duty passenger vehicles on the road globally. At the end of 2022, just over 2% of them will be electric. There’s still a long way to go. But the momentum is building.
April 7, 2022 - With sky-high gas prices, more and more companies are thinking about switching to electric including bigger fleets of vehicles for businesses, cities, and school districts. EV Fleet Day was a one-stop shop showcasing some of the latest electric vehicle technology, giving customers all the tools they need to make the big switch to electrify their fleet.
“We have a fully electric waste-hauling truck,” said Natasha Contreras with SDGE’s ‘Clean Transportation Group. “We have a fully electric school bus, some big rig trucks, a shuttle delivery van,” said Contreras.
They’re transitioning to electric school buses using grant money from the state. They’ll be receiving 18 E-buses in June and plan to have them up and running this fall.
April 9, 2022 - Battery-powered cars and trucks tend to be far heavier than their gas-burning counterparts.
That extra bulk translates into a mixed bag of benefits and concerns, especially when it comes to safety.
The occupants of heavy vehicles tend to fare better in an accident. Despite the extra pounds, most of the current crop of electric vehicles decelerate at distances in line with - and sometimes better than - similarly sized gas vehicles.
