Dodge Magnum to be Offered as Police Cruiser w/ 340-hp Hemi

DaimlerChrysler AG will enter the police car market in September 2005 with a modified Dodge Magnum sport wagon powered by 340 hp Hemi engine. A tight economy will make it hard for DaimlerChrysler--or any automaker--to make big returns on fleet sales to the police market. Sales of 60,000 units per year are dominated by Ford's Crown Victoria, which has eighty-five percent of the market.
