10,000 Miles Between Oil Changes?
Oil chemistry and engine technology have improved to the point that most cars can go several thousand more miles before changing the oil. A better average would be 7,500 between oil changes, and sometimes up to 10,000 miles or more.
New Technology Cited for Low Highway Death Rate
Automakers said new safety technology is behind the record low fatality numbers for 2009. The government reported a 10% drop in highway fatalities from 2008 to 2009, and the rate of fatalities per 100 million vehicles is the lowest in U.S. history.
