Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation just officially debuted its electric walk-in van at the NTEA's Work Truck Show. Freightliner partnered with Enova to produce the 120 kilowatt all-electric drive system with several chassis platforms including the Freightliner's MT-45 WIV shown at Work Truck Show. They're now ready to accelerate plans to bring the vehicles to corporate fleets.
General Motors is now testing out a new hydrogen fuel cell system that it expects to be ready for production by 2015. It's only half the size of the one used in the Chevrolet Equinox test vehicle - it's 220 pounds lighter and uses about one-third less platinum, the company said.

The NAAA's annual survey reports volume at member auctions was down 14.5% for 2009. The number of vehicles sold at auction was down 5.9%, and the total sale of $80.5 million was off 3.1% from the previous year. Officials said the decline was expected.
