The US Department of Energy’s eGallon calculator allows users to find the difference between the price at the pump and at the plug in any state.

 

The Debate over Fuel-Efficient Tires

While there are slight disadvantages to some fuel-efficient tires, such as 30% less tread, they can be 15% cheaper up front. Money is saved on fuel due to lower rolling resistance, but there is still discussion over whether or not this makes up for shorter overall life of the tires.
