CPO Dealers of the Year were announced during a luncheon at the CPO Forum. Certified offerings were introduced by luxury brands about 15 years ago and are now commonly used by automakers. This year's award winners: Karl Chevrolet, Fletcher Jones Motor Cars (Mercedes-Benz), Boardwalk Volkswagen, Power Chrysler Jeep and Dodge, Romano Subaru, Sewell Cadillac, Sewell Lexus and Longo Toyota.
OVE.com upgraded its site with an automated inventory import solution allowing independent auctions to more efficiently upload vehicle listings. The company says the number of independent auctions that have signed up has reached about 70 facilities -- 25 since September with 15 of them joining in 2009. Independent auctions were given access 18 months ago if they are members of the National Auto Auction Association.
NAFA Fleet Management Association and Environmental Defense Fund have created the Fleet Greenhouse Gas Calculator that enables fleets to track their progress in reducing emissions over time. It was unveiled at the NAFA 2009 Institute & Expo in New Orleans. The calculator is designed to minimize data entry needs for fleets while retaining accuracy.
The Consumer Optimization system from FirstLook is designed to help dealers increase page views on websites and boost in-store traffic. The program helps dealers manage the consumer-facing side of used-vehicle operations and take advantage of more consumers using the Internet to find vehicles.
