When Congress created the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, a mandate was created for 36 billion gallons of biofuels by 2022. The Department of Agriculture released a report on where that industry is going with the controversial corn ethanol, biodiesel, and the challenges of producing enough cellulosic and other advanced biofuels.
