Ford leads domestics to retake the lead over imports with 5-segment leaders in J.D. Power and Associates 2010 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study. This is the first lead for domestic automakers since 1997.
The all-new 2011 Ford Explorer will be the first to offer new curve control technology upgrading the stability-control system. Curve control automatically reduces vehicle speed by decreasing engine torque when needed to keep the vehicle on the steered curve path. It will be standard on 90% of Ford crossovers, SUV, trucks and vans by 2015.
Arizona Governor Jan Brewer allowed the contract for photo enforcement speeding to expire after complaints about constitutionality and revenue shortages as violators ignored tickets not delivered in person. The cameras had produced a 19% drop in fatal crashes while data was being collected.
