Drayson, Cocker Overcome Odds to Win 3rd Michelin Green X Challenge
Drayson Racing won its third Michelin Green X Challenge victory in the 2010 American Le Mans Series. Former UK minister of science and innovation Paul Drayson and Jonny Cocker put in extra hours behind the wheel after the E85 bio-ethanol car was damaged the night before in a practice run and the third driver wasn't cleared by medical officials.
Manheim Dallas Takes Top Enterprise Award
Enterprise Holdings revealed the 2010 Auction Achievement Award winners and taking honors in the whole car auctions category was Manheim Dallas Auto Auction. Officials said the Auction Achievement Award program is designed to recognize auctions that excel in strategic planning, communication, operational success, customer service, marketing and reconditioning.
Verizon Adding Hybrids to NJ Fleet
Verizon is expanding its nationwide fleet to include alternative-energy vehicles, and 260 hybrids are going to New Jersey. Included will be "mild hybrid" trucks used for aerial line work.
Jabra, Zipcar Promotion Addresses New Massachusetts Law
Jabra has partnered with Zipcar to provide the Jabra CRUISER, a Bluetooth in-car speakerphone, to lucky Zipcar members who are selected at random. The promotion, which takes place through the month of October and will be running at each of Zipcar's 325 pick-up locations in Boston, coincides with the new Massachusetts safe driving law.
