Analysts See Bright Future for U.S. Vehicle Sales
For the second year in a row, carmakers expect to add more than 1 million sales in the U.S. LMC Automotive Analysts project sales for 2011 to total 12.7 million, a 9.5 percent increase from 2010's 11.6 million. They also estimate a steady rise to 13.8 million sales in 2012, 15.4 million in 2013 and 16.2 million in 2014, restoring American sales to pre-recession normalcy.
Ford to Expand Availability of Inflatable Rear Belts
Inflatable rear seat belts are proving to be very popular with Ford Explorer buyers, and the automaker plans to expand their availability to the 2012 Flex. Isuzu’s Reach Alternative to Standard Walk-in Van
Isuzu and Utilimaster have introduced a new medium-sized walk-in van called the Reach. The companies say the van's lightweight body, range of upfit packages, and economical engine will give buyers an alternative to the standard walk-in van. Composite wall panels made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic allow passengers to talk in a normal voice.
