Echo Automotive Adding to Fleet Services through Meineke Service Center Agreement
Echo Automotive, Inc., a developer of technologies enabling the cost effective conversion of existing fleet vehicles into fuel efficient hybrids, signed an agreement with Meineke Car Care Centers, Inc. to serve as a national service center and installer for Echo Automotive systems. There are approximately 900 Meineke franchises throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, China, Saudi Arabia and the Caribbean. Meineke franchisees have serviced more than 50,000,000 vehicles since 1972, and has been recognized by the American Association of Franchisees & Dealers and Entrepreneur Magazine’s Annual Franchise 500.... Automaker Groups Petition EPA to Reconsider California Zero Emission Mandates
The two largest automaker lobbying organizations filed a petition on Monday asking the US Environmental Protection Agency to deny or defer California’s zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) mandates from earlier this year. The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers and the Association of Global Automakers support the federal fuel economy standards for 54.5 miles per gallon by 2025. They’re fighting California’s legislation requiring automakers to sell 1.4 million electric, plug-in hybrid, and fuel cell vehicles by 2025, which would start taking effect in 2018.
