It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce that Mark Boada, FMW’s executive editor, passed away Wednesday morning, November 11, 2020. He suffered a sudden, fatal heart attack while cycling with a friend.
Mark was an award-winning writer with a brilliant, always-inquiring mind, and he was an absolute joy to work with. He was a keen observer of politics and government affairs and served as vice-chair of NAFA Fleet Management Association Government Affairs Committee.
Mark entered the fleet business with the CEI Group, Inc., where he worked in the marketing department for more than 11 years as the company’s chief writer, editor and public relations representative. Mark joined Fleet Management Weekly in 2017. He was a prolific journalist; most of his articles are archived in Thought Leadership columns: Fleet Spectator, Globally Speaking, In the Public Interest, and Work Truck Forum.
He was a graduate of Princeton University, with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. He also held a certificate of marketing from Columbia University School of Business.
Mark lived in Newtown, Pennsylvania and is survived by his wife, Evelyn, daughters Lauren and Sarah, son Andrew, and three cherished grandchildren.
We will miss him terribly.
