If you didn’t get a chance to read the entire report from a United Nations panel warning of dire consequences if governments do not step up their efforts to temper the pace of climate change, this article from The New York Times gives some insight into what is happening now and what could lie ahead.
With that sobering news in mind, we were exultant to hear that NAFA and CALSTART are teaming to develop a “Sustainable Fleet Standard Program.” Considering the enormous impact fleets can make in this arena, we applaud this important step.
And speaking of importance, let’s hear it for Florida Power & Light, for whom NAFA president Claude Masters is Fleet Services Manager. On April 2nd, FPL was presented with the EPA’s Clean Air Excellence Award for 2014. Congratulations!
