George Hogan Appointed to WEX Senior Vice President, International

WEX Inc. recently announced that George Hogan has been appointed senior vice president, international.

“George has proven to be a key contributor to the WEX executive leadership team since he joined us seven years ago,” said Melissa D. Smith, president and chief executive officer of WEX Inc. “His new role leverages his vast knowledge of our company, marketplace and customers on a larger scale. His proven track record gives us confidence in his ability to continue our progress on our strategy to expand our global footprint.”

Hogan joined WEX in 2007, and served as chief information officer and senior vice president. In 2012, he assumed responsibility of WEX Fleet One, and most recently served as general manager of fleet over-the-road and partner channels. George’s international experience includes overseeing IT in Australia and New Zealand for WEX, and previously managing global teams while employed at Visa.

David Maxsimic has decided to step down as president, international effective June 1. During the last 16 years, he has played an integral role in executing WEX’s long-term growth strategy, expanding both the domestic fleet business and leading our international expansion efforts.

“David has been instrumental in establishing WEX as a leader in the space. We have benefited from his knowledge and leadership during his tenure. On behalf of the Board of Directors and WEX employees, I want to thank him for his contributions, and wish him well in all his future endeavors,” said Smith.
