Waste Management, which is operating natural gas vehicles in its fleet, was named as the second-best of all S&P 500 companies in terms of sustainability reporting by the Investor Responsibility Research Center. New York City-based IRRC evaluates annual reports, company 10-K filings, and sustainability publications. Waste Management was one of the first refuse companies to commit to naturally gas fuels, starting with liquefied natural gas-fueled trucks in Southern California.
