TÜV SÜD Auto Service GmbH has acquired 100% of the shares of TCOPlus and its sister company, FleetVision, global market-leaders in consolidated fleet reporting, TCO forecast solutions and international fleet consulting, based in Belgium.

The two companies are now 100% affiliates of TÜV SÜD Auto Service GmbH and operate within the company’s Fleet Business Unit alongside Fleet Logistics, TÜV SÜD’s European market-leading fleet management provider.

The two founders of TCOPlus, Bart Vanham and Hans Damen, will continue to act as managing directors for what is a very successful and well connected business, having spent a major part of their professional lives in the global automotive and fleet consulting arena.

As a former director of PwC, Bart Vanham brings an in-depth knowledge in the highly complex world of global automotive-related tax systems to the new set-up.

Hans Damen is a former CEO of Fleet Synergy International, now Athlon Car Lease International, and brings long standing automotive finance business experience, with the ability to project it into unique applied fleet consulting and consolidated fleet reporting solutions.

TCOPlus currently holds contracts with major international clients and provides services to a combined fleet of around 120,000 vehicles, while FleetVision provides consulting services for fleet clients all over the world.

TCOPlus’ award-winning solutions provide global fleet owners with a transparent overview of the total cost of ownership and an insight into other key fleet data, including procurement opportunities. They provide complete transparency of existing fleet costs and offer realistic forecasts for the clients’ stakeholders.

In addition, TCOPlus enables clients to simulate local and international fleet cost reductions in the company car tax systems of more than 30 countries internationally.

“TÜV SÜD Auto Service’s fleet business is already well established throughout Europe,” said Rainer Laber, CEO of the Fleet Business Unit of TÜV SÜD Group.

“The dashboard tools of TCOPlus, like FleetCube, will complete our business unit’s product portfolio perfectly and will support our customers in identifying and realizing cost potentials. But, in addition, customers will be able to simulate the impact of tax changes with the applied forecast functionality of the GreenCube, TCOPlus’ CO2 and tax modelling tool,” he said.

He continued: “The fleet management program of TÜV SÜD Auto Service supports our customers both on a local and an international level. By having the possibility to access the global network of TÜV SÜD affiliates in more than 70 countries worldwide, we are highly flexible in providing our customers with fleet services, both locally and globally.

“As a certification and testing engineering company with a 150-year pedigree, TÜV SÜD stands for financial solidity and for a neutral position in this industry. Combining the DNA of both companies with our expertise will provide a platform to accelerate the growth of TCOPlus and FleetVision,“ added Laber.
