A report issued by the Department of Homeland Security outlined a strategy to prepare for a flu pandemic and urged trucking companies to develop contingency plans to keep cargo moving. The report said the risk of transmitting the flu virus via cargo or trade goods is low, with the exception of live avian or other animal cargo.
