Toyota Motor Co.’s global recall of 7.43 million vehicles (with 2.5 million in the US) will be the largest recall in 16 years, when Ford brought in 7.9 million vehicles in 1996. The Toyota recall involves a defective power window switch on Toyota and Scion models. This is happening not long after Toyota’s massive recall of 14 million vehicles in 2009 and 2010 that began with a series of incidents related to unintended acceleration.
