Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Lansing, anticipates that a new chief at the Energy Department can boost the struggling $25 billion auto loan program, which has been stagnant for more than two years. The Energy Department revealed that it doesn’t plan to grant any more loans from the $25 billion Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing loan program created by Congress in 2007, regardless of the remaining $16.6 billion and seven pending applications.
