Plug-ins are a big wave of the future, according to a study by IHS Global Insight stating that they’ll make up almost 20% of global light-duty vehicle sales by 2030. This breaks out to 8.6% market share for plug-in hybrids and 9.9% for battery electrics. The advantages of plug-in vehicles are numerous, but so are the challenges, according to the study.
