PHH Energy Conference Brings Top Industry Professionals Together

PHH Arval hosted its 21st Annual Energy Conference at the JW Marriott Houston in mid-March, bringing together more than 70 fleet professionals to explore solutions that are pertinent to the energy industry.

“Year after year it is rewarding to see the energy conference unite fleet professionals to address common challenges, identify new goals, and work to improve the business as a whole,” said Jim Halliday, president of PHH Arval. “This remains a highly anticipated event for PHH Arval because it continuously helps lead clients forward with new solutions.”

The event followed the popular format of the 2013 energy conference, with a primary focus on networking and brainstorming.

Attendees participated in highly interactive workshops on topics of interest to energy sector fleet managers, including:

Getting Started on an Alternative Fuel Program

This popular session focused on creating a roadmap to get an Alternative Fuel Vehicles program started, including tips, best practices, and actionable next steps.

Using Data Analytics to Effectively Manage Your Fleet

Grappling with all that great data at your fingerips? This session focused on knowing what data to review for the sake of analyzing your fleet and making certain that it’s operating at maximum efficiency – including what data you need, and what technology will most effectively (and most easily) gather and analyze that data.

Creating and Implementing Policies for a World-Class Fleet

Building a world-class fleet program? This session focused on finding the right balance of policy, process, and procedures to fit your organization. Key learnings included how to begin, tips for navigating the development & approval process, and great ways to distribute new policies and ensure compliance.

Keys to Successfully Upfitting Your Fleet

Upfitting vehicles? This workshop focused on important factors that are necessary to consider BEFORE choosing a vehicle to be upfitted – including payload analysis, weight distribution, serviceability, compliance and driver safety.

Regulatory Compliance

As this was by far the most requested topic by participants, this session was presented as a general (vs. breakout) session. This learning-packed session covered vehicles and equipment regulated by the DOT; the implications of non-compliance; best-in-class practices for ensuring compliance; and where to find the help you need.

All-in-all, it was an engaging, fun, and informative day – and everyone walked away a little more prepared to meet the intensifying demands of managing energy industry fleets. Kudos to PHH for putting on a great event!
