Once in a Lifetime Conditions Mean There May Never Be a Better Time to Remarket Vehicles

By Richard Mallek, Director of Business Development, FLD

Each quarter, FLD produces our quarterly White Metal Market Report, an in depth look at the factors affecting the wholesale used vehicle market. And as in just about every industry, Covid has made predicting the future of the wholesale used vehicle – or really any used vehicle – market an exercise in futility. From shuttered businesses, to sheltering in place, the world is a much different place than any of us could have imagined just one short year ago.

Looking back, most of the companies and industries we work with were at a virtual standstill once the pandemic hit. And for the first few months, little happened as fleets took a wait and see attitude. Then, something very surprising happened. Suddenly, the remarketing business kicked back into gear, and the second half of 2020 was a flurry of activity.

Now – with 2020 behind us, and the world looking forward to the promise of widespread vaccination – we’re seeing continued glimmers of hope across the globe.

In our corner of the industry, business remains challenging. Fleets are holding off on selling used vehicles, and new ones – especially trucks – are all but impossible to find. Meanwhile, the demands of home and final delivery mile drive the need for even more vehicles, pushing prices for used vehicles even higher and creating a seller’s paradise.

Simply put, there may never be a better time to sell your used vehicles, and no one better to sell to than FLD. Here’s just a few of the reasons why:

Zero Risk

FLD is the only remarketer who pays up front in just a couple of days for exactly the price sellers agree to. That means remarketing vehicles with us is totally risk free.

Fast Access to Cash

Let’s face it, in times of trouble, fast access to cash is imperative. In many cases, selling used assets may be one of the best ways to keep your options – and your business – open. At FLD, we’ll make that easy by giving you an offer in hours and getting you paid in a few short days.

Lower TCO

Of course, having cash is ideal, but having to wait for it can kill your momentum. With traditional vehicle remarketers, sellers often wait weeks – and more often months – to get paid, driving up TCO with extra lease payments and expenses. By paying you up front, FLD leaves more money in your pocket without the uncertainty of wondering when your transaction will settle, and you’ll finally get paid.

Higher ROI

With new vehicles all but impossible to find – and many fleets holding older ones longer – sellers are getting absolutely top dollar for their end of lease assets. In fact, FLD has been paying historically high prices for used vehicles since last July, something we expect to continue throughout 2021.

Less Hassles

Managing vehicles through the remarketing process can cost valuable time, money and resources waiting on auctions, haggling with dealers and accepting whatever the FMC’s will offer. Savvy fleet pros can avoid these problems by selling vehicles quickly to FLD, leaving them free to move on to more important things.

The Ability to Take Advantages of Emerging Opportunities

No one can say for certain what the future holds. Selling end of lease vehicles quickly and for top dollar makes it easier to take advantage of new opportunities, leaving your operation better positioned to thrive after the pandemic, not trying to survive because of it.

As you can see, there are a lot of smart reasons to remarket vehicles – especially with FLD – during these uncertain times. We even make it easier with with our WebAccess solution, an online service that lets sellers conduct the entire remarketing process in real time from any smartphone, tablet or computer anywhere, any time.

How easy is that?

To find out more about why now is a great time to sell your used vehicles and equipment, simply log on to www.fldinc.com. When you’re ready, give us a call and we’ll be happy to tell you how to completely remarket without risk and thrive in this brave new world.
