The National Transportation Safety Board is recommending that all people who’ve been convicted of drunk driving in the US should have interlocks installed on their cars to stop a repeat offense from occurring. It’s a non-binding recommendation to state legislatures and is being sent to 33 states that don’t currently require interlock devices for all convicted offenders. Interlocks are devices typically mounted on the vehicle’s dashboard, which require motorists to breathe into them.
