The White House has signed off on a directive that will have “black boxes” installed in all future cars and trucks that are equipped with event data records. Most vehicle manufactured today carry such devices onboard and they’ve aided in recent investigations into the unintended acceleration scare at Toyota. Privacy advocates have raised concerns about use of the technology.
