NAFA Expands Technician Training Program, Adds New Educational Sessions at 2026 Institute & Expo

NAFA Expands Technician Training Program, Adds New Educational Sessions at 2026 Institute & Expo

The specialized educational program for fleet service and technician professionals aims to deliver the latest training directly to fleet teams at NAFA’s 2026 Institute & Expo (I&E), which will take place April 13-15, 2026, in Cleveland, Ohio, at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland.

The Technician Training program, which is open to verified technicians and service professionals, provides access to top-notch training and networking opportunities on all three days of this year’s event.

“We expanded and enhanced this professional development program to give attendees more than two days of premier networking, education and impactful experiences,” said Bill Schankel, CAE, CEO of NAFA. “I encourage corporate and government fleets to bring their technicians and service teams to the event and give them a glimpse of what I&E has to offer professionals in the dynamic fleet industry.”

This year’s Technician Training program includes access to instructor-led training on fundamentals of electric vehicles and equipment safety where participants will learn principles of high-voltage electrical safety, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe shop practices. Attendees will also have access to four educational sessions produced by Garage Gurus, including training on heavy duty foundation brakes, turbo chargers and induction systems, electrical diagnostics for circuits, sensors and strategies, and heavy duty air disc brakes.

Service and technician professionals also are invited to explore the Exhibit Hall featuring 200+ industry suppliers and the NAFA Garage. Attendees can watch live demonstrations of EV technology, products, and services, explore technician-focused products, and engage with the latest tools and technologies. It also showcases student-built vehicles, highlighting emerging talent and the future of fleet maintenance.

Prospective exhibitors are encouraged to secure their space early to ensure prime placement in the Exhibit Hall. For more information about reserving an exhibit booth, please visit NAFA’s website. Sponsorship opportunities can be secured here. This year’s current sponsors include: American Honda Motor Co., AssetWorks, Enterprise Fleet Management, Driverge Vehicle Innovations, Fleetio, Geotab, Holman, Hyundai Motor America, IntelliShift, JJ Kane Auctions, KeyTrak, Legend, Merchants Fleet, Motive, RTA The Fleet Success Company, Samsara, Stellantis Pro One, Voyager Mastercard and Wheels.
