It’s inspiring to view the competition as more electric vehicles come to market with longer driving range per charge and MSRPs lower than some of the other EVs on the market. The problem they face is competition with high-mileage traditional gasoline engine small cars that sell for much lower prices, including their non-EV counterparts. Honda is getting a lot of good buzz for its Fit EV with its 118 miles per gallon equivalent rating. However, it’s only available for lease in Oregon and California at $389 per month and a price tag twice that of the internal combustion engine Fit – a challenge very similar to that faced by Ford with its Focus Electric.
