The “Green Across America” compressed natural gas-powered road trip has come to completion. The tour traveled across 23 states and Washington, D.C. and was led by Antelope Valley Clean Cities Coordinator Curtis Martin, along with CNGChat.com members Evelyn and Gary Corbitt. The Green Across America campaign featured participants from metro areas across the country, from California to New Jersey and down along the east coast. Several Clean Cities coalitions organized public events to promote the benefits of CNG, along with sponsors such as American Honda, Southern California Gas Co., and Tulsa Gas Technologies, Inc. The road tour, driven by people behind the wheel of several Honda Civic Natural Gas vehicles, wrapped up at the end of October at a Ryder open house ride-and-drive in Rancho Dominguez, Calif., and then by returning to its initial starting point on the Santa Monica pier. The team’s mission was to raise public awareness on sustainability issues in the transportation sector.
