For many years the Big-3 automakers have sold excess vehicles to car rental companies at discount prices. GM has announced plans to increase prices to rental companies for its 2007 model vehicles; Ford and Chrysler Group have not revealed their pricing plans but are expected to implement policies that could also result in higher prices to rental firms.
