Fleet Alliance wins Best App award in BusinessCar Techies

UK Leasing and fleet management specialist, Fleet Alliance, has won the award for the Best App at this year’s Techie Awards, organized by BusinessCar magazine, for its e-fleet mobile app, a breakthrough web application that makes life simpler for drivers and provides better control for fleet managers.

The e-fleet mobile app allows drivers to update their mileage records remotely from any location and feed directly into Fleet Alliance’s cloud-based fleet management and reporting suite, e-fleet. As a result, fleet managers can monitor accumulating mileages more effectively and produce predictive mileage reports to identify those vehicles in danger of exceeding contract mileages.

Electronic mileage updating in this way also helps to improve expense management workflow through faster and more accurate mileage recording and, therefore, faster expense claims and payments.

In addition to mileage reporting, the e-fleet mobile app provides drivers with direct one-tap access to all the key support services they may require, ensuring they get the help they need quickly without having to search for a number.

Key services include tire services, glass replacement, service and MOT booking, maintenance booking, breakdown and recovery, accident management and insurance details, all at the touch of a button.

The benefits of the app aren’t confined to the driver. For fleet managers, e-fleet mobile not only offers their drivers enhanced service levels, it also improves mileage management and contract extension control with mileage data split between private and business.
e-fleet mobile also helps ensure companies meet their duty of care obligations as it provides drivers with access to an electronic vehicle condition report.

Through this facility, drivers can confirm the condition of their vehicles in vital areas such as fluid levels, tyre tread depths, the condition of lights and auto-glass and that regular servicing is taking place in line with manufacturer guidelines.

The app is available to the broadest range of smartphone users possible, including Apple, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile platforms.

“Fleet Alliance’s e-fleet mobile application impressed the judges with its range of services available on a site working across all major mobile platforms,” said BusinessCar Editor, Paul Barker.

“Businesses and their drivers increasingly need to access and enter information remotely. The e-fleet mobile system is a clever tool that makes life more straightforward for users, especially as it is not limited solely to Fleet Alliance customers.”

Fleet Alliance managing director Martin Brown said: “We are delighted to receive further recognition of our efforts by winning the Best App award at this year’s Techie Awards.

“We believe that the e-fleet mobile app is unique within our industry. It provides an extensive array of services and support to every driver and vehicle on the fleet, irrespective of whether the vehicles are funded through 10 different funders or solely from Fleet Alliance, including vehicles supplied by other fleet providers and even grey fleet.

“e-fleet mobile is the only fleet management tool of its kind to provide such extensive support,” he said.

Fleet Alliance has seen other awards success this year: it was recently shortlisted at the National Business Awards for both the Customer Focus and the Employer of the Year Awards for the second year running.

At the same time, the company has been voted one of the Best Places to Work in the UK by the independent Great Place to Work Institute. It has also achieved the prestigious Investors in People gold accreditation, joining only the top 1% of UK businesses who have attained this gold standard.
