Dataium’s ASI Index grew 2.38% in December over the previous month, which was significantly larger than the 1.03% growth seen one year before. Dataium forecasted the US retail SAAR to be 13 million units for December. The holiday spirit was present with consumers pursuing year-end incentives, and Hurricane Sandy’s impact was seen in consumer replacement of lost vehicles.
