BYD, a Chinese company, along with Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris, announced that the company will open a plant in California’s Mojave Desert. BYD will be the first Chinese-owned vehicle manufacturing plant in the U.S. The plant is set to build 10 electric buses for the city of Long Beach, Calif. The buses are scheduled to be delivered next year.
