1st Mobility Launches ‘Mobility Configurator’ Solution

L-R: Tobias Kern, Michael Deuse, Balz Eggenberger, Thilo von Ulmenstein, Winfried Kordel

The Swiss-based Start-up has developed a B2B self-service IT-software enabling Companies to orchestrate their mobility offerings for their Employees.

Starting mid-2019, fleetcompetence Group and fleetbay joined forces in order to combine their long-standing industry expertise from fleet and mobility consulting, IT-development and telematic solutions. They now bundled all services related to “New Mobility” in a newly founded corporation: 1st Mobility AG, based in Switzerland.

1st Mobility will support clients to develop a comprehensive Mobility Policy for their employees and to facilitate processes to run such a Mobility program. 1st Mobility hereby acts as a Mobility Enabler, connecting the companies to their mobility suppliers via a sophisticated IT-platform.

“Already in 2019 we have realized an increasing demand from corporations to design policies and processes for new mobility offerings – going far beyond a company car”, explains Thilo von Ulmenstein, Managing Director, 1st Mobility AG. “This evolution has turned into a revolution through the changes, related with the pandemic lock down beginning this year. A multitude of new ideas and concepts have been developed by companies that are completely redefining their business mobility offered to their Employees. We want to support these initiatives consistently with our new services.”

For these purposes 1st Mobility has developed a unique and so far not available IT platform – the Mobility Configurator.

“Companies establishing a “New Mobility” Program face a significant level of complexity as the mobility needs are different by job role, office location, employee’s personal situation, etc.”, says Tobias Kern, Managing Director of 1st Mobility. “Our Mobility Configurator Solution supports each Employee to configurate their individual mobility package within the boundaries of the corporate mobility policy, which can be fully reflected in the tool.”

“As mobility offerings are part of the benefit-package granted to Employees, the tool functionality additionally integrates further benefit offerings such as home-office-contributions. Working from home is becoming more and more important. The management of such “none-mobility” benefit is also supported by the tool – following the claim “Mobility meets Benefit””, adds Tobias Kern. “Based on a magnitude of very valuable exchanges with customers and prospects on their experiences and requirements, we have designed a unique tool functionality covering mobility and wider benefit features”.

“The process architecture, which will be customized to the individual Client requirements, allows the seamless integration of any Mobility Solution Provider, inhouse departments as well as line managers as part of an automated approval feature”, resumes Michael Deuse, CIO of 1st Mobility. “We have succeeded in developing a highly flexible, extremely secure platform designed for sustainability and expandability, which, in addition to high scalability and performance, enables us to react quickly and efficiently to any individual requirements and wishes of our customers.”

Through its role as independent Mobility Enabler, 1st Mobility differentiates from mobility solution providers such as e-scooters, car rentals, flex-lease, long-term leasing, car sharing, etc. Our neutral IT-solution allows Clients to stay fully compliant with competition laws, as the mobility industry is highly competitive among providers.

“It is our objective to enable companies to set-up a customized and modern mobility program for their employees”, emphasizes Balz Eggenberger, Managing Director of 1st Mobility AG. On this background, 1st Mobility is following a “sharing” approach by also offering the platform as white-label-product to other mobility solution providers. “It is our aim to enable more and more companies to switch from the conceptional into the introduction stage of their New Mobility Programs in order to keep the momentum of the “mobility move” further accelerating.
