NAFA’s latest webinar session will be tackling a subject that many fleet managers might find puzzling; namely electric vehicles (EVs). Entitled Demystifying Electric Vehicles – Understanding the Complexities, Costs and Savings Potential, this session will help explain aspects such as cost, integration, and the savings that EVs can provide.

The webinar will be held THIS WEDNESDAY, February 17, so don’t miss out! NAFA webinars are available for free for NAFA Members and NAFA Affiliates as an exclusive benefit of membership. Registration for non-members is $25.00.

Register NOW for this webinar.

Description: This session will provide an overview of the technologies, considerations, costs, and savings related to electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (EV/PHEVs) in the fleet setting. Electric vehicles can provide substantial benefits to fleet operators—including operating cost savings, greenhouse gas emissions reductions, and a hedge against volatile fuel prices. For a busy fleet manager, however, it may be daunting to navigate the complexities of assessing and incorporating EVs into fleet operations. Focusing on light-duty electric vehicles, this session will cover the following:

1) EV technology landscape
2) Appropriate EV use cases
3) Total cost of ownership dynamics
4) Charging infrastructure
5) Educating drivers
6) Program monitoring and reporting.

Participants will learn how to:

1) Identify potential EV-appropriate opportunities in their fleets
2) Summarize the various cost factors associated with EV fleet integration
3) Understand the key steps in exploring and developing an EV program.

Presenters:

James Tillman is an electric vehicle pioneer who has been driving EV adoption for the last seven years. As Director of Sales, he focuses on optimizing and electrifying Municipal and State government fleets. Prior to Vision Fleet, James helped develop electric vehicle infrastructure in Texas and California for NRG EVgo, and he managed the City of Houston’s Fleet and Capital Improvement Program where he developed the first municipal EV carsharing program including 27 Nissan LEAFs and 15 converted PHEV Prius.

Kelly Helfrich is a Program Director for Vision Fleet where she is responsible for the development of relationships with key stakeholders, the efficient procurement and delivery of vehicles, and the on-the-ground management of project metrics that drive decision making. Prior to joining Vision Fleet, Kelly was an associate for an economic development program that connected Michigan automotive suppliers to the purchasing pipelines of large companies within diverse industries. Formerly, Kelly consulted for a firm that specializes in strategic planning, coalition building, and change management for public organizations.
