TSR Launches ‘Direct Vision Transition Guide: An Operator’s Guide to Transforming Fleets for Safety’

TSR Launches 'Direct Vision Transition Guide: An Operator’s Guide to Transforming Fleets for Safety'

Together For Safer Roads (TSR) is proud to unveil its ‘Direct Vision Transition Guide: An Operator’s Guide to Transforming Fleets for Safety,’ the first comprehensive resource of its kind in North America. This guide addresses the issue of blindzones in commercial trucks and offers a roadmap to reducing crashes, fatalities, and injuries by enhancing driver visibility. It reflects an important surge of activity to make roads safer that is mobilizing public and private fleet operators as well as truck designers and manufacturers.

The ‘one-stop-shop’ guide offers fleet operators in the public and private sectors:

  • Critical information on the role that visibility plays in roadway fatalities in the US and what can be done to address it.
  • Step-by-step directions for measuring the visibility of vehicles in existing fleets using TSR’s 5-Star Rating Tool.
  • Details on direct vision vehicles that are available on the US market.
  • Profiles on fleet operators and manufacturers who are leading the way to safer streets by adding direct vision trucks to their fleets.
  • Having the research and applicable information in one easy-to-access guide will facilitate improved truck safety and measurably reducing crashes, fatalities, and injuries.

TSR applauds its members for contributing their valuable expertise in fleet management and truck design to the guide as well as road testing the Direct Vision 5-Star Rating Visibility Toolkit. This has enabled TSR to produce a Direct Vision Transition Guide that demonstrates the power of collaboration to create change.
