TRW is introducing in Frankfurt its new short-range radar system enabling 360-degree sensing for improved vehicle safety with production expected by 2015. Radar can integrate lane-change assist, blind-spot detection, cross-traffic alerts, side-impact sensing and low-speed collision warning. Vehicle braking and electric power steering can be part of the package by providing limited emergency braking and traffic-jam assist.
