Toyota has developed a next-generation, advanced-driving support system, which it calls Automated Highway Driving Assist (AHDA), and that it says supports safer highway driving. The system links two automated driving technologies that the automaker thinks will improve driving safety and reduce driver workload: Cooperative-adaptive Cruise Control, which communicates with preceding vehicles to maintain a safe distance; and Lane Trace Control, which helps keep the automobile on an optimal driving line within the lane.
