Toyota to Debut Special Editions at Chicago Auto Week

Toyota Motor Corp. is bringing two new takes on its best-selling sedans to the Chicago Auto Show next week. 

The special edition models of the Japanese automaker’s Camry mid-size sedan and Corolla compact sedan, will debut with a refreshed 2016 Avalon sedan at press conference from the show floors on Feb. 12.

The 2016 Camry Special Edition will have a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine under its hood, and will be paired with a six-speed, automatic transmission. 

Special features include 18-inch alloy wheels with gloss black painted accents, smoked tail lamps, high-contrast blue stitching throughout the interior. It will also come with premium audio and navigation systems and a push-button start. 

Toyota only plans to produce about 12,000 Camry Special Edition models from August 2015 to January 2016. It will come in two colors: Blizzard Pearl and a new Blue Streak Metallic.

The 2016 Corolla Special Edition will feature 17-inch alloy wheels with gloss black finish, black interior with red contrast stitching, enhanced audio and navigation systems, a power moonroof and a push-button start. It will come in three colors: Absolutely Red, Black Sand Pearl and Super White.

Toyota plans to produce about 8,000 Corolla Special Edition models form August through December of this year. 

The show, at McCormick Place, is open to the public Feb. 14-22.
