OpConnect said that its EV charging stations will accept the Wright Express fleet cards. “This is important because authenticating electric vehicle charging stations with the Wright Express card is a mandatory requirement for Federal fleets,” said Mike Dixon, president of Go EV, OpConnect’s exclusive national distributor. With this development, the OpConnect charging stations can now be more easily integrated into a large number of both public and private fleet vehicle operations. “We designed the OpConnect EV charging network to be open for a wide variety of access and payment methods and this is another application of that design. Wright Express is one of the most widely accepted fleet cards so it was an obvious choice to partner with them for this development,” said Dexter Turner, OpConnect CEO.
“Wright Express is excited about adding our card acceptance to the OpConnect charging network,” said David Maxsimic, executive vice president of Wright Express’ sales and marketing. “Our government and commercial fleet card customers will expand their need for card acceptance at EV charging stations and other alternative fuel locations now and even more so in the future.” According to Maxsimic, “Those locations that accept our cards now will win more of our customer business in the future.”
